Cheerios Circle of Helping Hearts

Congratulations to the three winners selected using random.org:
#5 – Janine
#30 – Ashley
#31 – D. Roberts

I have emailed the winners. If for any reason I do not hear back from one or more of them, I will randomly select another winner or winners. Thank you for entering!

Have you heard about the Cheerios Circle of Helping Hearts? It’s a new cause-related marketing program benefiting WomenHeart to help raise awareness about heart disease and to provide free cholesterol screenings for women in need.

Heart disease is the number one cause of death in women with approximately 500,000 women dying of heart disease this year.

And high cholesterol is one of the major controllable risk factors for heart disease.

High cholesterol does not cause symptoms on its own, so without keeping it in check, the cholesterol can quietly build up in the walls of your arteries in the form of plaque, and cause the arteries to narrow or harden. This can eventually lead to a heart attack or angina. Learn more about prevention and early detection.

Cheerios Circle of Helping Hearts Code = $1 Donation to WomenHeart!

For every code found inside specially marked Cheerios boxes that is entered on the Cheerios Circle of Helping Hearts Website from now until January 31, 2010, Cheerios will donate $1.00 (up to $200,000) to WomenHeart.

Get some Cheerios coupons!
Until March 31 (or while supplies last), you can sign up to get six $1.00 Cheerios coupons and take part in the Cheerios Challenge. Be sure to look for the specially-marked packages and enter the code to help WomenHeart with their programs.

Bracelet Giveaway
To help spread the word about this program, I have been given three freshwater pearl bracelets with a heart charm to give away to three lucky readers of my blog. These bracelets are from Charity Charms, which donates a portion of the proceeds from its charms to various charities.

By wearing the charm bracelet, you can show your dedication to raising awareness of women’s heart health!

To maintain a healthy heart I exercise regularly, eat tons of fresh vegetables, healthy fats, and whole grains. I also take time out to do little things for myself everyday…just reading a good book or taking a short walk, can feel like a gift for my sould.

Regular exercise, nothing strenuous, but something to get the heart pumping and working a little extra. Doing this only a few times a week is great for the heart and other parts of the body as well.

    Angela says:

To maintain a healthy heart, even when you are busy mom and can’t make it to the gym, is to try and do your best to eat a healthy breakfast. That is always a good way for me to manage my diet – healthy cereal is not only good for me, but tastes SO good too! There are so many other healthy breakfast items, fruit, yogurt, smoothies…I also feel less guilty if I have managed to “fall off the wagon” during my other meals.

That’s my tip! I love this bracelet!

To maintain a healthy heart I run around the house chasing kids :) On a more serious note, I avoid situations that will cause me stress and when they show up unexpectedly, I deal with them right then. Another thing I started doing recently is to cut off all caffeine from my diet.
