Whole Foods Market Richardson (TX) Promotion

For readers who live or work near the Richardson (TX) Whole Foods Market….

The store will no longer be shutting off the promotion at 9AM! For the final two Fridays, you will be able to pick up the item of the day anytime after 8AM until supplies run out.

The promotion has been very well-received! Unfortunately I do not know how many products will be available, but if you haven’t been able to make it to the store between 8 AM and 9AM, you still may have a shot at getting the freebie later in the day.

I will announce the next item late Thursday night!

Calloway’s & Cornelius Nurseries: Free Repotting Day & Clinic (1/15)

Calloway's and Cornelius Nurseries

If you live in Dallas/Fort Worth or Houston, head to Calloway’s Nurseries (DFW) or Cornelius Nurseries (Houston) on Saturday, January 15 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM for their first ever repotting day.

Take your own pots and plants, or purchase new plants at the nursery. They also have newly imported pots that will be available for purchase.

They will provide:

* the working space and tools (including bench space in the greenhouse),
* complimentary Calloway’s Premium Potting Soil,
* a starter application of either granular or water soluble fertilizer
* and complimentary decorative material to top off your container

Also, at 10:15 AM on the same day, they will hold a “Dressing Your Indoors Clinic”. Here’s the description:

“Improve the quality of your indoor air with houseplants as well as use them to brighten up a room. Plant leaves act as filters for many of the harmful toxins which are produced from carpet, paint, insulation and many other building materials found in our homes and offices.

To learn how to clean the air using indoor plants, come to Calloway’s or Cornelius Nursery for a free “Dressing Your Indoors” Clinic Saturday, January 15, 2011, at 10:15 a.m. ”

Print the flyer with all the details.

Thinking of composting? Free class and bin for Dallas residents

Free composting class and bin for Dallas residents

Did you know that some cities give out free composting bins to residents?

The last time I checked, I did not see anything mentioned about free composting bins on the City of Dallas Website, however I recently learned that they DO give free composting bins at the end of their free composting classes.

From what I understand, anyone can attend the composting classes, but the composting bins are only available to city residents.

Visit the City of Dallas Web site and scroll down to Free Composting Classes for the class schedule and calendar. If you don’t live in Dallas, check with your city’s Web site to see if they offer similar classes.

Tropicana Reward: 2 Points for an iTRAIN program download

Tropicana Juicy Rewards

For only two Tropicana Juicy Rewards points, you can get one free MP3 or Podcast workout download from iTRAIN.com.

The cardio, sculpt and stretch programs are available for different fitness levels (beginner to advanced) and last around 15-60 minutes. They normally cost $7.99-12.99.

I am not sure if this is a daily reward or if it will be up for a few days. Usually there’s a timer on the page that indicates how long the deal will be available. If it’s something you want to get, I suggest redeeming the points now. You will have until February 28 to select the program you want to download.

Go here to redeem your points or to sign up.
