OfficeMax mailer

OfficeMax Max Perks Coupon

If you are a member of MaxPerks and get coupons mailed to you, be sure to look carefully at this week’s mailer. I received a $10 off $50 coupon card (like usual) and I was about to toss it in my coupon pile in case I needed it later.

Then I noticed on the back that there was a coupon for a free Scotch Pop-up Tape Desk Dispenser. I saw one of these (or something similar) at the Container Store during a gift wrapping demonstration and thought it would be nice to have, but I wasn’t planning to buy one. Now I can get one for free!

Review, Giveaway & $1/1 Coupon: StaphAseptic (12/9)

StaphAseptic Review & Giveaway

A few years ago, my cousin was hospitalized with a staph infection…. the dreaded MRSA – a highly resistant strain of staph that often will not respond to antibiotics. Most of her family came down with MRSA more than once — apparently it was very difficult to get rid of! They think it was initially contracted at a gym and then spread through contact at home.

MRSA spreads through contact and enters the body through cuts. So when I heard about StaphAseptic, I was eager to try it. While StaphAseptic is not a cure for MRSA, it is a preventative product that is worth having around the house if you are concerned about staph infections. After hearing about my cousin’s scary experience, I want to take preventative measures to avoid going through what she and her family went through.

You can apply StaphAseptic to minor cuts, scrapes and burns. I recently had two skin biopsies and used StaphAseptic before covering the areas with bandages. I was a little concerned about using it on the biopsied areas because the cuts are a little deep, but I had no problems with the product. I plan to use this on my daughter’s cuts and scrapes too, for added protection.

StaphAseptic is not only a first aid antiseptic, but also a pain relieving gel (includes Lidocaine). It does not contain antibiotics. To reduce your chance of getting a staph infection, use it in addition to following these other preventative steps:

- Treat and cover wounds
- Don’t share personal items (e.g. towels)
- Shower after physical activity
- Properly clean gear and equipment
- Keep hands clean
- Consult your physician for all active wounds

Buy StaphAseptic

You can find StaphAseptic at most major retailers for around $7.99 and $14.99. Be sure to print this $1.00 off coupon too!

NAKANO Seasoned Rice Vinegar – $1.00 coupon

NAKANO Seasoned Rice Vinegars

Rice vinegar is not permitted on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD), but before we decided to follow the SCD, I used the various NAKANO seasoned vinegars and loved them.

I tried it for the first time because of a coupon I received. It sounded interesting, but I wasn’t sure how to use seasoned rice vinegar so I checked out the NAKANO site for ideas.

My favorite dish was the Macadamia Crusted Mahi Mahi with Fresh Mango Ginger recipe, which I made for a family get-together. I’m not a usually big fan of fish, but this was delicious!

- Learn more about the different flavors that are available.
- See all the recipes in the NAKANO Splash Recipe Club and subscribe to their e-newsletter.
- Become a fan on Facebook.
- Print a $1.00 off coupon. It is a PDF coupon, so you can print multiple copies.

You can find NAKANO, part of the Mizkan family of products, at most major grocery stores.

Disclosure: In exchange for this post, I received a $25 AMEX gift card to use in the Holiday Blog Hop giveaway from December 1-5. Be sure to enter the giveaway to try to win it!
