![]() Group discount sites seem to be popping up monthly. Here’s one I just learned about: Juice in the City. Their Dallas/Fort Worth deal site hasn’t launched yet, but Collin County has. So if you live in or near Collin County (north of Dallas), check out today’s deal. They also have deal sites that have launched or will launch soon in these cities: - Alexandria (not sure if this is VA or LA) What is especially interesting about this site is that you can sign up to be paid if you secure the daily deal. So if you know businesses that would be interested in participating, sign up to be a Deal Sourcer. Groupon: Get $50 worth of items at Gap for $25
![]() Today’s Groupon is for the Gap. ![]() For $25, you can get $50 worth of apparel and accessories at any Gap store in the United States. This is great for back-to-school and fall clothing purchases – especially this weekend with tax-free shopping! Unfortunately it is not valid online or at outlet stores, but it doesn’t say anything about not being valid on sales merchandise, so you might be able to pick up some great deals! Be sure to read the entire terms and conditions for this deal. For example, if you do not redeem it by the expiration date, you can exchange it for a $25 gift card. Don’t live in Dallas? You can still take advantage of this Groupon. Just change the city to “Dallas” and purchase it! UPDATE: it looks like the Gap Groupon is *the* Groupon for every city today, but the minimum number of buyers needed to purchase it varies by city. If you’re not familiar with Groupons, they are group “coupons” that you can purchase one day only. As long as this Groupon has 300 buyers, the coupon will be good. I doubt this one will have any trouble meeting the minimum! The Gap Groupon offer will end today at 11:59 PM Central. If you buy the Groupon, you will be able to print it on August 20 and can use it any time between August 20 and November 19, 2010 (when it expires). I have been using Groupons since the site launched and have had nothing but great experiences with them! On the one occasion when I had an issue with one company who decided not to honor the Groupon before the expiration date, Groupon made sure I was refunded. Saveur Magazine or Parenting: The Early Years – 2 years for $5 (or less!)
![]() Unfortunately this deal appears to be dead now. I just noticed on Slickdeals.net that DiscountMags.com has a special on 2 year subscriptions to Saveur Magazine (18 issues) and Parenting: The Early Years. I then went to several cash back sites and found that by using your Cashbaq.com account, you can get 8% cash back. If you don’t have an account, sign up for one, and get a $5 sign-up bonus, making your subscription better than free! For Saveur Magazine, add the 2 year subscription to your account (after you click through the Cashbaq.com link) and check out. Enter code 3745. For Parenting: The Early Years, add the 2 year subscription to your account and check out. Enter code 5936 during the checkout process. I have three magazine subscriptions through DiscountMags.com and haven’t had any problems. 20% off coupon at Big Lots & Target Toy ClearanceGet 20% off your entire purchase at Big Lots all day on Sunday (July 18) using this coupon. I haven’t been to Big Lots much lately because I found their prices to not be all that competitive. But occasionally I stop in and find something interesting. A few weeks ago I found a kitchen cart that looked interesting. I need a kitchen cart because I’m running out of space to keep gadgets and prep foods, but I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars. Big Lots had them for around $130, but the store I visited had an “as-is” one for under $100. I couldn’t see any major defects except a small scratch. With the 20% off coupon, it would be a great deal, but I’m still thinking about custom building one if I can get the materials cheap enough! To stay in the loop about Big Lots deals, join their Buzz Club Rewards program. On a separate note, Target has started putting toys on sale. They are 30% off at stores near me and should move to 50% off in the next 1-2 weeks and then to 75% off. I will post an update when they hit 75% off. The good stuff goes quickly so keep an eye out for updates! I want to add that I love Target. Not only have I gotten some great deals from end cap sales, but I have been able to take my daughter to free and cheap Dallas Children’s Theater performances thanks to Target’s ongoing contributions to the Theater. They contribute a lot of money each week to community organizations, which I think is wonderful! The Giggle, Giggle, Quack performance on Saturday was wonderful and we would not have been able to go if it weren’t for Target’s free arts’ events this weekend. So, thank you, Target! @EarlyBird from TwitterIf you use Twitter, you might want to follow @EarlyBird. This is Twitter’s attempt to make some money by promoting deals via sponsored tweets. Here’s the article about the first deal (posted on 7/14). Thanks, Cone! Ringling Bros. Circus – Dallas ticket giveaway (ends 7/14)!
![]() It’s that time again! The Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus will be returning to Dallas/Fort Worth from July 28 – August 15. The circus comes to Dallas the week of my daughter’s birthday so it has become a birthday week activity we have done four of the last six years. So, when I was contacted about hosting an opening night ticket giveaway on my blog and invited us to attend too, I jumped on it! ![]() This year’s performance is entitled Zing Zang Zoom, and it will include aerialists, human cannonballs, high-wire walkers, Chinese acrobats, a never-before-seen Quadruple Russian Fire-Swing and daredevils on dueling Wheels of Steel. ![]() There are very few packaged items that my daughter and I can eat on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, but here’s one that, if you are not allergic to nuts, IS a SCD-legal packaged food: LÄRABARS! EatBetterAmerica.com has printable coupons for $0.75/3 off any flavor/variety Larabar, Jocolat or JamFrakas bars. Print your coupon. I plan to print the coupon and watch for sales so I can get a few to have at my office since my daughter has a tree nut and peanut allergy and cannot eat them. Belk – $10 off $30+ coupon
![]() A few days ago, I posted about my shopping trip to Belk. Because of my Yahoo searches, I have started seeing lots of Belk ads when I visit my Yahoo email account. On Thursday, I got a new banner ad with a code for $10 off $30 or more at Belk.com. There was also the option to print the coupon and use it at the store. When I go to Belk.com, I see the coupon on my homepage, but I’m not sure if that is cookie-based due to clicking on the ad or if everyone gets the coupon when they visit the site. The coupon has a unique code so unfortunately I cannot share the direct link. If you don’t see the coupon, try doing a few searches on Yahoo.com for “Belk” and spend a little time on Belk.com looking at their merchandise. You should start getting the ads too. The coupon is in a red ad. It is only valid on regular and sale merchandise, but not the deeply discounted clearance merchandise and several brands (all listed in the coupon details). Still… I thought I’d share this find in case anyone plans a trip there. It is valid July 1-3 only. |
