Target Wii Game Deal Update

I mentioned yesterday that you would need two computers to print the Wii coupons, but then found the coupon is in the Hot Coupon World Target coupon generator, so you can print unlimited numbers of the coupon.

I printed three more coupons and headed out to see what other Targets in my area had in stock. I found another six games at the Target in Addison (TX), but the cashier would only let me use two of the three coupons. That Target normally won’t let me use more than one like coupon in the same transaction so I hesitated to shop there, but they were the only store in my area that had Diego, Order Up and Spy Fox.

Here’s what I purchased:

TRANSACTION #1

- Disney Sing It with Microphone ($24.98 – 50% off, found in clearance area)
- Six Flags Fun Park ($19.99) – this game comes with a free Kids’ Admission to Six Flags good through 12/31/09 which is going to come in handy with the Six Flags tickets I won at a raffle!
- GT Pro Series (car racing game) with steering wheel ($19.99)
- Sonic and the Secret Rings ($19.99)
- Cruise Ship Vacation Games ($19.99)
- Wii Fit Plus ($19.99)

Total cost: $54.95 + tax (used 3 $10/2 Wii games Target coupons)

TRANSACTION #2

- Spy Fox in Dry Cereal ($19.99)
- Balloon Pop ($19.99)
- Order Up ($19.99)
- Build a Bear A Friend for All Seasons ($14.99)
- The Littlest Pet Shop ($14.99)
- Go Diego Go Safari Rescue ($14.99) – of all the games, my 5 year old loves this most even though she initially said she didn’t want it. I think because it’s easy for her to figure out.

Total cost: $49.96 + tax (used 2 $10/2 Wii games Target coupons since this Target wouldn’t let me use 3 coupons)

Amazon.com Trade-In Option for Wii Games!!!

I did a little research before selecting games to make sure I wouldn’t find the games for less on Amazon.com or Ebay. In some cases, the games are less expensive online, but once you add the seller’s shipping cost, the price is on par or slightly higher for a used game.

While doing this research, I discovered an option for those of you who do not want to buy six games, but still want to take advantage of this great price. In addition to selling unwanted games on Ebay or Amazon.com, you can also trade them in for an Amazon.com gift card and avoid the hassle of listing them!

Just ship your video game(s) for FREE to Amazon, and they’ll deposit the funds into your Amazon.com account to use on a future purchase.

Several of the $19.99 games have trade-in values of $9.00 or more. If you can use three Target coupons to purchase six $19.99 games, then your price per game before tax will be $8.33. Those of you who live in Texas will break even once you factor in the 8.25% tax.

So….

- Buy 6 Wii games at Target for $19.99 each (and be sure to select the games with $9.00+ trade-in values*)
- Use 3 Target $10/2 Wii Game coupons
- Pay $8.32+tax for each game
- Trade in games to Amazon.com

* Games I saw with trade-in values of $9.00 or more are: Wii Fit Plus ($11.25), Littlest Pet Shop ($10.00), Lego Star Wars & Lego Indiana Jones ($9.00), and Cooking Mama Cook-off ($9.00). Prices are likely based on demand so they could change at any time.

What’s also nice about the Amazon.com trade-in program is you can send used games!. If you get one of the games that has a trade-in value of $9.00 or more, you can try out the game and if you don’t like it, just trade it in for an Amazon.com gift card.

My Target Trip (non-Wii game purchases) – 11/5

While making my Wii game purchases, I also checked out the Halloween clearance at Target. Halloween candy is marked down by 50%, but everything else is 75% off. I purchased the following:

Pumpkin short-sleeved t-shirt (kid’s) – $1.24
Halloween long-sleeved t-shirt (adult) – $2.00
Polka dot leggings (kid’s) – $1.49 (these can be worn any time – does not have Halloween theme on them)
Glow in the Dark ghost pillow case – $1.24
Pumpkin Carving Kit – $0.99
Fright Light Pumpkin Decorating Kit – $0.99
Halloween-themed dish towels (2) – $1.25 each (these were 50% off so I’m going to take them back and see why they weren’t 75% off)
8 piece Wilton cookie cutter set – $1.49

They had tons of costumes, candy bowls, both paper and plastic bowls, plates and cups, napkins, goody bag items (pencils, erasers, toys, stickers, etc.), and more.

I also found some kitchen gadgets on clearance for 50% off:

Michael Graves pizza cutter – $4.34
Jar opener – $3.62

They also had the Michael Graves measuring cups and spoons on clearance. I have both already and love them.

Target Wii Game Deal

I will post a photo later, but I stopped by Target on the way to work this morning to take advantage of a Target deal I saw Alyssa mention yesterday on Twitter. She posted details here. Also check out The Frugal Find who originally posted this information.

You will need access to two computers to print three Target coupons for $10/2 Wii Games. Use the three coupons with the “Buy two Wii games, get one free promotion” at Target this week.

Buy a total of six games, but make sure they are all approximately the same price because they’ll deduct the two cheapest games. There are several games at $14.99, but it made more sense for me to get the $19.99 games.

Here’s what I bought for less than $60 (including tax):

- Disney Sing It with Microphone ($24.98 – 50% off, found in clearance area)
- Six Flags Fun Park ($19.99) – comes with a free Kids’ Admission to Six Flags good through 12/31/09 which is going to come in handy with the Six Flags tickets I won at a raffle)
- GT Pro Series (car racing game) with steering wheel ($19.99)
- Sonic and the Secret Rings ($19.99)
- Cruise Ship Vacation Games ($19.99)
- Wii Fit Plus ($19.99)

I will revise this post later to include more details and the photo, but since I’m changing my email delivery to send out the Swagbucks alert at 3PM, I wanted to include this info too for email subscribers.

My Target Trip – 9/24

Juicy Juice is visiting various locations
in and around Dallas right now, so I took my daughter over to Richardson Square today after school to see if we could meet up with them. We got there about 3:50 (it ended at 4PM), and unfortunately I couldn’t find them, but we did find some 75% off deals at Target:

Speedo children’s shoes – $3.48
Oxo Softworks Corn Holders – $1.98
Oxo Softworks Cherry Pitter – $2.48
Kitchen Rug – $1.98
Tablecloth – $4.24
Waverly King-sized Sheets – $17.48
Charging station – $1.98
Can Strainer/Bottle Opener – $1.28

Total: $37.78 (includes tax)

If you missed my 9/17 Target post, check out the desk I got for only $32.49!

I also received two coupons – one was the standard Target printed coupon and the other was a new coupon (at least I haven’t seen this format at Target before) that looks like the grocery store catalinas.

It’s for SEVEN free 16.9 oz. bottles of Joint Juice. I had to do a double take…. seven free bottles?!? I have never seen a coupon for multiple free items, and since I didn’t buy any grocery items, I don’t know what triggered it.

Target Clearance – Furniture, Bed, Bath

I stopped by Target tonight after hearing on DFW Coupon Cuties that there’s a 50-75% off sale going on in the bed and bath departments at Target. I did my usual endcap tour and spotted some Hudson computer desks marked down 75% off to $32.49!

I have been looking for a simple desk, and this was the right price! While I was trying to figure out how to get it into my cart and then my car, two of the three were grabbed – one by a guy who had bought one in the morning and decided to return for another.

I used the $2.00 off coupon that is valid when you use your Discover Card, which took care of the tax. The coupon was in last Sunday’s insert in case you missed it.

I also saw other furniture, as well as school supplies, bedding, bath items, kitchen items, storage bins and wall decor on clearance, so stop by your Target if you are looking for items in these categories.

$10 gift card for filling prescriptions at Target

In the September issues of Women’s Health and Real Simple magazines, there is a Target coupon to receive a $10 gift card when you fill a new or transferred prescription at their pharmacy.

The coupon is hidden under the flap on the inside of the front cover of both magazines, which you might miss unless you are looking for it or love to read ads.

The one in Real Simple does not expire until 11/17. I think the one in Women’s Health expired around the same time or earlier. Check all your magazines because Target may be placing these coupons in many different magazines this month.

My Target Trip – 8/7

My Target Trip Total: $2.92
The cost before clearance and coupons would have been close to $60.

Did you get the Back to School Target mailer? I got it on Thursday. I have been keeping an eye out for a $5 or $10 off coupon, so I was pleased to find a $5 off coupon in the mailer.

There were several other Target coupons inside, including $5 off any Wii game ($49.99 or less). Target has several Wii games on clearance right now, but I didn’t see any I wanted, so I got the AMF bowling game since it was the cheapest ($4.98) and with the coupon, I got it for free. I tried it out last night very briefly and it kept stalling and blinking “loading” so I know now why it was so discounted. The Wii Sports bowling is so much better than this one.

These are the other coupons in the booklet:

$5 off Cherokee School Uniform purchase of $30 or more
$5 off Kids’ apparel purchase of $30 or more
$1 off Hanes kids’ apparel
$3 off SpongeBob SquarePants product purchase of $15 or more
$3 off any SpongeBob SquarePants DVD
$5 off LeapFrog learning and reading system
Free Transformers RPM Vehicle with purchase of Transformers Deluxe Figure
$2 off Hasbro GI Joe action figure
$1 off purchase of both Jif peanut butter and Smucker’s fruit spread
$1 off Children’s Tylenol pain reliever
$0.50 off Oscar Mayer Complete Lunchables
$1 off Colgate toothpaste
$1 off Wet Ones wipes, excludes trial size
$1 off 35-ct or larger Clorox disinfecting wipes, excludes trial size
$1 off Multipack Kleenex facial tissue, excludes trial size
$0.50 off 20-pk. Capri Sun juice pouches
$0.50 off 10-pk Quaker Chewy Granola Bars

Thanks to Stephanie at Katy Couponers for the head’s up on the $3 printable coupons for the Tag books, which made them $0.48 each.

Also spotted on clearance…. shoes! There were some great deals on shoes, if you can find your size. Unfortunately for me, I have big feet and there wasn’t much in my size.

Target Clearance – 75% off Toys

UPDATE: I visited six Dallas-area stores today trying to find two particular toys. Here is a run-down of supply at the stores:

Addison (Montfort location):
Visited at 10AM. Best selection. People started arriving while I was there, so it could be picked over by Friday.

Plano (Park):
Visited at 11:00AM. 2nd best selection, but still a lot marked at 50% off.

Plano (Coit):
Visited at 11:45AM. Pretty picked over on the 75% off, but most stuff still 50%

Downtown (Haskell or Lemmon – can’t recall street):
Visited at 3:15PM. Very limited amount of toys at 75%. Picked over.

North Dallas (Medallion):
Visited at 4:00PM. Several items still available, but pretty picked over.

North Dallas (Skillman/Abrams Super Target):
Visited at 4:30PM. Almost completely picked over. Lots of empty shelves. 75% off clearance probably started on Wednesday at this store.

Word got out pretty quickly about the clearance. If you missed finding items this round, be sure to keep an eye out for the January sale. Target seems to do these clearances in January and July. You might also check back at your local Target(s) a few times over the next couple of weeks. I think people fill up their shopping carts to get the best deals, and then get home and realize they don’t need all that stuff so it ends up back on the shelves.

ORIGINAL POST:

I stopped by Toys R Us (Walnut Hill/Central location in Dallas only) and Target this morning on the way to work.

Toys R Us has their store closing sale at 40-60% off now (some items are marked down more if they were already on clearance). The store hadn’t opened yet so I decided not to wait ten minutes to see what they had left. Instead I headed to Target to see if they had marked toys to 75% off yet.

I’m glad I did! I got a cart full of toys for under $100…. Polly Pocket stuff, a Bratz plain white car (hopefully will fit other dolls), Barbie stuff, Leapfrog Tag books, science experiments, remote controlled Air Hog cars, board games, stuffed animals, some other boy stuff and the tethered paddle tennis game that I bought a day before at 50% off. They only had one left, so I was glad I got to the store when I did. Toys R Us had the same toy “on clearance” for $21.99 and I got it for $7.50. Pays to be patient!

I went to two other Target stores and found that they were still marking down items so not as much was marked at 75% off yet. If you see price tags at 50% still, be sure to scan the item because I found one item that was actually at 75% off, but hadn’t been marked down yet.

This is a great time to stock up on kids’ birthday gifts or items for donating during the holidays if you have toy drives at work or school.

Be sure to swing by the outdoor clearance area too. There were several items marked at 90% off (at a few of the stores I visited, but not all).
